We operate a hybrid, in-person first approach. You will be expected to work from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Why do we need to hire this person?
This is a new strategic leadership role created to support our rapidly growing Comparison business within Traveler Experience. Although the function has existed for under a year, this is the first time we are establishing a dedicated UX leadership layer for this space.
The Senior UX Manager will shape both the vision and operations for UX in a brand-new area of the product.
This role exists because:
- Comparison is a new and highly cross-functional business line requiring a strong UX point of view.
- The team will work across major dependencies, including Marketing, Supply, and Creative, requiring exceptional communication and alignment skills.
- You will lead a team of four designers (a Lead + three Seniors).
- The space demands a UX leader who can manage strong stakeholders and champion the user relentlessly.
We are specifically looking to add strong strategic thinking to the leadership team to balance existing strengths.
- 4+ years of direct people management, ideally leading Senior+ designers.
- Strong B2C product experience with a proven track record of delivering consumer-facing experiences at scale.
- Experience with AI or personalization in a product context, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- A highly strategic thinker who can translate ambiguity into direction.
- Someone opinionated, confident, articulate, and comfortable navigating strong stakeholders.
- A more extroverted personality to complement the existing leadership team's composition.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
What are the main responsibilities?
The Senior UX Manager will own the end-to-end UX strategy for the entire Comparison business, spanning four mission teams.
Key Responsibilities

- Define the short-term and long-term vision for Comparison experiences.
- Establish and own the experience strategy for our core audience — Modern Explorers — ensuring deep immersion and connection with local experiences.
- Shape differentiated strategies around guides, social proof, and review systems to create trust and excitement for travelers.
- Drive the UX strategy for personalization and AI, including dynamic choice systems and LLM-powered accuracy models.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Act as the bridge between UX, Creative Marketing, Supply, and Engineering.
- Collaborate with Creative Marketing on media innovation in product, including imagery, video, sound, and storytelling surfaces.
- Partner with Supply stakeholders to inform how inventory, content, and selection are surfaced in the traveler experience.
- Work closely with Senior Engineering Manager and Lead Product Manager.
Team Leadership & Management
- Directly manage four designers: a Lead Designer and three Senior Designers.
- Oversee dotted-line partners in Content Design and UX Research.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development; set high craft and strategy standards.
- Establish the team's engagement model with other functions and operationalize workflows in partnership with Design Operations.
- Ensure the team communicates effectively across the organization and represents the UX strategy with clarity and influence.
Execution & Delivery
The team will be responsible for defining and delivering experiences across major product initiatives, including:
- Guide strategy: showcasing guides as cultural anchors of local experiences.
- Social proof strategy: expanding beyond reviews, leveraging data and storytelling to build trust.
- Booking Assistant: helping travelers navigate options, add-ons, and customized journeys.
- Add-ons strategy: shaping how supplemental experiences are surfaced and personalized.
- Dynamic Choice System (LLM-driven): building accuracy models and intelligent configurations using traveler intent and inventory data.
